To better understand the lives of fish in urban waterways we track multiple species year-round and overlay their locations with habitat and water quality information. The Chicago River and associated waterways serve as our study system, a nearly wholly manmade water system with low flow, heavy influx of wastewater effluent, and areas which serve as analogs to connected backwater wetlands and ponds. Species we track include Common Carp, Largemouth Bass, Black Crappie, Walleye, Snapping Turtle, and Bluegill.
