Monarch/milkweed_calculator01 (GPServer)

Service Description: The Milkweed Calculator allow researchers, conservation planners, and managers the ability to model the anticipated number of milkweeds on the landscape based upon projected milkweed densities for several different habitat classes entered by the user in stems/acre. The tools use a county summary shapefile (attribute table) as a base layer for analysis. A seamless milkweed habitat raster was used as the source for the summary information contained within this shapefile. There were a total of 22 different habitat classes created which were deemed amenable to introducing milkweed. Some of the classes are labeled with a LOW, MEDIUM, or HIGH attribute describing their relative amenability or potential for milkweed introduction. In addition, there are checkboxes which allow the user to exclude any monarch habitat region from the resulting analysis. Once the user enters a projected milkweed density for each habitat class type and selected which monarch habitat region to exclude press the "Execute" button to initiate the model. A map depicting the milkweed density (stems/acre) will be produced along with tables showing the total stems predicted and stems predicted for each monarch habitat region.
